Fantasy Bay

Fantasy Bay

by Anna P.

Once upon a time, when the hands of time locked the sun adrift the water,

and its blue ripples were shining with a vermillion glaze,

Scarlet swirls of light were lapping at the shore,

and whimsy colored the sky rosy as a blossom,

The sand illuminated with golden radiance,

The inland's leafy treetops transforming in indigo hues,

As streams of orange glow carved their way through the sky,

Withdrawn rainbows in the nooks of existence awaiting our eyes' marvel,

With every gust of warm air sweeping over the landscape,

the world was breathing,

Every trill of the cicadas,

beckoned songs of churning waves and wind whipped shrubbery,

Surging in sudden crescendos,

descending in smooth legato,

Blurred existence, fluidly blending boundaries of black and white,

everything was swallowed,

in shades of thought and limitless possibilities,

A twitch of inspiration would give it meaning,

and a change of pace would send the sky crumbling down,

Until then, the chance would remain,

For my ship to coast that rolling bay

Exploration fulfilling a world both rich and empty,

conducting this planet's song,

Once upon a time,

such a place existed in my mind,
