Fantasy To Reality

Thoughts, hopes, dreams Never imagining being able to make it on those teams. Hours and hours of endless repetition Only in hopes of doing my best every competition. Striving to achieve the dreams of many, But the realities of few. I travel this path with guidance of many, But find myself alone at the crossroads. No responses, rude awakenings and rejection Fill my screen with no consideration of my protection. Suddenly, a hopeful communication appears And my eyes begin to fill with tears. Like a child on the last day of school, Excitement rushes through my body. Never expecting this day to come, All my hard work has finally paid off. Stats, videos, and infinite hopeful emails My dream had become a reality. At the end of my journey I’m faced with a decision Do I continue on my path, or experience a new rendition.
