Far Away From Home

Gush! A burst of ocean spray Onto me did splash. Howl! The wind is whipping up The sand with such a crash. “Ow!” I shout as sand shoots up. My sight begins to blur. And the only answer is the sand's smart slap And the ocean’s rumbling whir. Whoosh! It shoves me further back, Away from the comfort of home. I push myself, just one more time, I cannot drown alone.
