Job 3:20 New English Translation (NET Bible)

20 “Why does God give light to one who is in misery,
and life to those whose soul is bitter,

“Why is light given to him who is in misery?”

Is not misery a state of death that drags down everything?

Does not light appear as dark and shadows as a fantasy

in the nightmare of existence that touches anything?

“Why is life given to the bitter in soul?”

Why is breath bestowed on the ones who do not enjoy it?

Is it possible that death itself dethrones the power

that it  thought it had and it still tries to deploy it?

Is it a mystery or just a fact that we cannot hide from self?

Even though most of us don’t know who we are.

In such we are so confused that “schitso” is our middle name

and our standards then reside not even close to par.
