Far but Close to Me
You were thousands of miles away serving our country,
I was here making plans for my own life's way.
I was miles away when you came into my life unexpectedly,
Then you told me you are coming home in May.
We fell for each other despite the distance and hesitation,
And now all of my future plans involve you too.
So I will wait for you, care for you, be here for you, with no limitations,
Because the future has never looked this beautiful when I was without you.
Until then I daydream about our life,
One filled with love, adventure, and making you happy.
And I look forward to the day when you are my husband and I am your wife.
because even though you're so far, you're the closest one to me.
