Far Too Thin

She danced

On the ice

That was far too thin

Swirling and twirling

With no fear

Of falling in

For the world was her friend

And would bring her no harm

It was a simple fact, she thought

As she spun there

On that far too thin spot

And with a crack and a crash

She was driven right in

Through the spot in the ice

That was far too thin

She shivered and shook

Thought the world was a crook

How could she have fallen

Into this frozen brook?

The world was her frield

That's what she was taught

That the world was good

Not some old fraud!

But she was wrong

The world plays many different songs

Some pleasant

Some mocking

But both come along

Down the path that we're walking
