Farewell

Everlasting, numberless

The days of our ignorance

Memories faded

Promise's of more

The young mind

Optimistic yet unmindful eye

Overlooking the things that would matter most

Promises easily rolled off the tongue

But thats not all

How good it must feel to be young

Realizing, there is more to life than this

Songs you know, now will go ever unsung

Too naive to grow up, too proud to stay young

The limitless dreams

Once captivated your eager heart

Have been forgotten

Some sense of reality

The taste is still on my lips

A signed lease on eternity

Without the will to change

Forget the consolations

Seek no solace in the hearts of the young

Faded memories

All you have

They accompany you along the way

Things seemed to be brand new

Days seem like seconds

Seconds like years

Atop this tall ladder

 on the last rung

A farewell

To all those who recall being young
