Farewell

I call you family because I love you

And you loved me

In the way you teased

In the way you bought donuts and challenged an eating contest

In the way you would stay beside her as I grew up

You love me

In the way you let me talk for hours

In the way you catch me to keep me from drowning

In the way you move one thousand miles away

You still love me

In the way you’ll invite me to visit you in Florida

In the way you’ll refuse to take your medicine

In the way you won’t make it to the hospital

I thought you would continue to love me

Only because I keep loving you

I forgive you
