Farewell Dying Soldier

Farewell dying soldier,

A battle of life is lost,

A comrade to us all,

Bravery proved your cost.

In a war that makes no sense,

We fight to be free,

But death is the price you pay,

And freedom will never be.

How empty is man’s soul,

The heart is so hollow,

When death stares down on us,

That is where we follow.
