That Fast Food Worker Girl
Scoop some fries, love,
And take their money,
Make them a twist cone,
Quick like a bunny.
Take this order, love,
You made that wrong,
And for Heaven's sake,
Stop singing that song!
All day taking orders,
Caught up in the whirl,
How could she be happy,
That fast food worker girl?
Go and count this till, love,
Some extra fry sauce, too,
Don't look so happy to be here,
What the heck is wrong with you?
This place of thirty-somethings,
Still believing in the lie,
"Someday life will be better,"
Though all they do is fry.
That girl had better ideas,
All churning in her head,
That's why she won't work here,
Until the day she's dead.
The world will be her oyster,
A real job as her pearl,
And that's why she is happy,
Tha fast food worker girl.
She cannot wait to go away,
Leave this place of shriveled dreams,
All she needs now is more money,
And she'll take off it seems.
'Til then she'll scrape the fryer,
Though it makes her want to hurl,
Thinking of her grand old schemes,
That fast food worker girl.
