fast-forward fantasy dream

when you realize you walk alone in the dark,
you start to notice every single detail.
i’m walking in the woods with the leaves crunching beneath my feet.
the cool, chilly wind is slapping across my face.
need of fire and warmth, but only can find a dark distance.
it didn’t take long for me to notice,
that the sudden warmness on my face were actually tears.
now running, my heart is pumping.
i can’t breathe.
ohno.
the suffocation of the oxygen running out,
i eventually collapse into the cold, icy ground.
stay there, feeling the frozen leaves crawling and numbing my body.
it wasn’t until then.
i realized.
it wasn’t just a dream.

it was reality.
