Fastened to Myself

Every moment
Turns into a memory
That we can't go back to
Except for in our minds
Am I the only one
Who finds life to be
A strange complexity
With too many turns
And corners to get
lost in
Doors fly off their hinges
whenever I walk by
And the sky seems to
always produce an
ominous hue
The wind shakes the
trees and threaten
a storm
One that I could not
walk through without
being blown away
Blown to pieces
I am afraid
to be who I am
Not because of them
Or for them
For me, I am afraid
Afraid of what may be
If I continue to walk
on this path
When I know the ending
will be my demise
My doom, my death
I'm getting worse
Dear Friend
Don't try to save me
You can't
Don't sympathize
I was like this from birth
So take me away
Dear Serenity
I need to be free
from the chains
that hold me
and bind me
to myself.
