A Fatal Friendship

Sometimes I watch the clock for the hours that fly by.
I just wish I got to say one final goodbye.
The other day you were acting really strange to me.
You were in need and I just couldn't see.
I tried to shake it off but even then I treated you wrong.
It makes me miss how well you could sing that one song.
Not a day goes by with that moment in my head.
I just wish I could take back the words that I said.
It seems like just yesterday they told me you were gone.
Now I can't think straight after the break of dawn.
Promise me you're still with me even on the other side.
I still carry your legend along throughout the long ride.
To some it would be painful, but to me it's a memory.
And you can't get rid of those. They're my history.
I loved you then and I still love you now.
I'll try to live for the both of us. I will somehow.
