Fate Asunder

I see my life, the qualifications are ten-fold. What the answers don't tell you is how to find them. It's a joke, the need to pretend and be something I am not. The pretense of a better life will eventually lead to eternal damnation. The potential of what might be can sometimes be a blur. I have devoted my life to Reason and yet, I remain a Romantic. What fantasies are present down the barrel of a .38?

What is, what isn't, what should've been, what could've been; these are the days in our lives. I've acquired the ability to heal others, but I can't even find the cure to my disease. I live, I strive, I feel, I love, I wait, I die and do it again every morning for the rest of my life. He is given a pair of open-minded ears and yet still, he will not pry. She is given everything a world can offer and yet still, the meek are the optimist. She lives, he dies; no one will ever hear the cries of a dying beetle. On to this harsh pavement, I lay my last thoughts: If they will not hear me, I will not hear them.
