Fate's Defiance

An anomaly, such conflicting hearts procure

Lost at youth; re-found! Let fascination endure

Eyes melted bronze, glazed with vim and clear desire

Caught her gaze of jade, gold; cautious but afire

Prologue written, short, in May night constellation

Lit, June sun savior, their course with eager passion

Dirty sheets, bodies revel; first virtue given

But in the shade of each light, lurks destructive sin

Months of false heart, with list of faulty promises

Lies to fractured trust, for both hold heavy vices

Fresh threat enter with autumn, lasts all through the cold

But by the sun, through summer--by May's hand, behold!

Always there is hope, despite edged words spoken tense

Always there is love between white mice and serpents
