Father

I’m a bumble bee.

Separating myself from what I am and what I should be.

I just want to leave.

But the idea of you is what keeps me

Longing for the loving voice of what a father may be.

Although you actually

May have never noticed,

I haven’t had a true heart beat

Filled with a father’s love

Since the very day you left,

My heart is either as hard as

Your stubborn head

Or it collapsed within my ribcage

The day you were dead.
