father
As i scream out every single cuss word I know, I hit the steering wheel with both my fist
repeatedly with anger and regret .I look back to see where the person who hit me was I didn’t
know what to do in this type of situation I then keep screaming out why this had to happen to
me. I regret driving out of the school parking lot .I drive to nearest place I can, which is the
seven eleven as I drive I still am surprised that the car can still be drivable. But, still I am angry
not only at the other driver but angry at myself because I knew better. My parents told me
clearly that it was only for school and that I should be the only one in it since I only have my
permit. But as dumb as I am I don’t listing to them very often. When I do they are usually right. I
should of listing to them this time and now I am just angry because I didn’t. As I get out of the
car I walk scared to look at the damage.
What I am more scared of is the call I have to give to my parents about what happen. i
stand still and think about who I should call first.. Ten minutes later I decide to call my
mother I feel she would not be as angry as my father. I dial her number and I am
frightened at what she will say I still am thinking about what I should tell her and then
she answers. I tell her with pauses that I got hit while driving the car she pauses and I
can tell the change of voice went from what do you want to be you lying. She kept
telling me I told you so and I still I had my heart pounding out my chest. Then she starts
tells me what to do because I didn’t know so she hangs up and I call the police and tell
them everything that had happen they .ask me how many people were in the car with
me and with me being a minor with only a permit I want to lie but I know I can’t because
I think of the consequences if I do. I had two other people in the car and I wanted to tell
them I was the only one. I tell the truth and say it was three people in total in the car
after that .I go to the side of the seven eleven and start kicking this big rock with anger I
pulling up to the seven eleven and see the person in the driver’s seat its woman .in my
head I call her every name i can possibly think of .she doesn’t even look at me or my car
I look at her car and I get even angrier because there is nothing but a scratch on her car
and mine has a huge dent in it. The woman calls me over but I totally ignore her I don’t
want to speak to her or look at her but I know I have to go to her to get the license and
registration etc. I go to her and ask for her things and she doesn’t care to even
look at me like if it was my fault this happened . But i deep down knew it was hers. As
we exchange information I get a call from my sister and she tells me she’s on her way
.she hangs up and we are just waiting for the police to show up .i kick the same rock to
kill time and as I look at the car .i am afraid of what my father is going to get the belt in a
while and now I got to. Later my sister shows up and then the police show up then they
get our side of the story and then they get theirs. the officer gets into his car and I
patiently wait he gets out of the car and comes to us first and he tells us it was her fault
but since I do only have a permit I get a ticket but I didn’t care as long as I can say it
wasn’t my fault . my friends leave back to school without letting me know. and at the
time I totally forgot about them I was so selfish about what was going to happen to me I
didn’t care to bother to ask them if they were okay .now I have more things to worry
about my sister tells me if I can still drive I tell her yea but deep down I didn’t want to
touch the steering again for a while. But who else was going to drive it home so I have to
and while I am driving home I am no longer looking at the negatives I am looking for the
positives. I think about how nobody got hurt and that the car is still drivable ill rather
have had the car totaled then for somebody to end up in the emergency room. I am
looking at everything I am grateful for in the moment but then I get home and I
patiently wait for my parents. Then I can hear my dad’s work truck from a block away
and I know that’s him I am probably more afraid of him right now than death at the
moment. I hear him open the door and he walks in with the angriest look I have seen
him with. He starts screaming at me and I am just standing there with no words. I don’t
know what to do I look dumb and feel dumb. He then leaves and just goes outside for a
moment and come back to me and ask me one question but I don’t know the answer to
it I don’t know what to tell him so I leave to my room without an answer. I am angry at
myself for letting this happen and more because I didn’t listen to my parents I than hear
my sister come in with her daughter my niece a 8 month old girl who loves seeing her
grandparents. All I hear is her laugh and then my dad comes knocking in and of course I
have to open the door so I open it. and he ask if I was alright and I said yea under my
breath he then said forget about what I said earlier and forget about it as long as you
and your friends are okay. Its fine he leaves and I am just confused and that’s how I
sleep that night but I kept thinking about it and I just couldn’t figure out why he told me
that. I wake up the next day to go to school but I walk out the door. But my dad stops
me and tells me I have to take my brother and sister to school. I don’t question him but I
am confused at why he is still letting me drive .he goes to work and leaves me with the
keys of the car and my siblings I really just want to stay home and do
nothing. but I got to do what I got to do I take my siblings to school and as I’m on my
way to school I myself being more cautious I’m being more careful .I get home that day
and my family makes me call the insurance company to make the claim .I don’t want to
ask why I have to do because I don’t want to get yelled at with questions so I do as told.
As I make the claim and later I now notice I have to deal with many things now like my
dad sometimes makes me pay rent with his account .I have never done this before and I
don’t know why he is making me do it now. I have more responsibilities now than I did
before the car accident and I have to be careful with many but I just want to know why
now.
