Father.

Dear James,

I sit up in the dark lonely hours of the night wondering if you’re fine.

I sit up in the dark lonely hours of the night hoping that you remember me.

I sit up in the dark lonely hours of the night wishing on a star that you would be here.

I sit up in the dark lonely hours of the night wondering if you have another family now.

I sit up in the dark lonely hours of the night hoping they’re not better than what we had

I sit up in the dark lonely hours of the night wishing that you would come back to me.

I sit up in the dark lonely hours of the night wondering if you miss me.

I sit up in the dark lonely hours of the night hoping we’ll meet again some day.

I sit up in the dark lonely hours of the night wishing, wondering, and hoping that you still

              love me.

                                                                                                            Sincerely yours,

                                                                                                            Your Daughter
