Father
For some, they consider their father to be a hero,
But I wouldn't know.
Others, their father is their role model,
But I wouldn't know.
He is a stranger to me
As I am a stranger to him.
It's not that I never knew him
I was just never around him.
He was the guy that'd pick me up in the summer,
But only for a month and when I was little.
Would take me trucking with him
Would take me fishing for a weekend every year
But ii didn't know him
Years went by
Chistmas' came and went-
but only every few were spent with him.
I looked forward to those..
Now I'm the only sibling living with my father,
And though I'm seventeen,
I'm only just figuring out
Just who my father really is.
