Father...

Our eyes met for the first time that day

I knew you were my Daddy without having to say

Kindergarten was a breeze because I had you on my side

In middle school nothing could stop me when you had so much pride

As a teen, I wish time would slow down

I'm not ready to be without my Daddy around

I try to deal with the struggles of boys and learned from you that they're just toys

The girls make me so angry when they talk

And you told me they were jealous of how I walk

I have to stay on the path God sets for me.

Because I know Daddy that's what you want to see.

Time is speeding by and I'm not ready yet.

I want to go back to the first time we met.
