Like A Father

Like a father you were

To me who was

I can never repay you for all you did for me

All I can do is relive the memories

The sound of your laughter brings tears to my eyes

Not being able to see you again brings heavy sighs

The times we spent together were among the best

No matter what we did all that mattered was that we were together

It was hard to let you go but I understand the reasons for everything

I dream of you often and wake up ready to spend the day with you

But then I remember that you're no longer here

Until we meet again, please be safe and watch over me

I love you

This was dedicated to my grandfather who left this world during a very turbulent time in my life.
