Father Time
Father Time
It wasn’t my father but I allowed him
You must understand I had no control
He was very well structured
As he stood there with structure
Manners you couldn’t forgive.
He was sweet, at times, and loving at times
And unforgiving at times but stable.
I tried to welcome him in
Especially during times
When he needed time even though
He reminded me I needed it.
He was unforgiving many times
Nourished me and flourished me
With its fountain of youth
But trust me, It wasn’t my goal
To take advantage of it.
Again, I was reminded of time
And the luck which I held
and what I could do with it.
Unconventionally l and unwilling
Of course me, hard headed I proceeded
I rolled my eyes as he swirled around and reminded me
He was Father Time
