Fatherless

Dear Dad,

It has been 15 years since I last saw you

Writing this letter brings me to tears

You really don't know what I've been through

Why have you left me all these years?

Sometimes I try to envision

What you have going on that is so important

Or was it your decision

To decide not to reach out to me?

I am doing well, if you were wondering

Pursuing my passion and being part of the crowd

I spend hours and hours studying

In hopes to make my father proud

It makes me sad you don't care

But I will always be here waiting for you

I have many stories to share

I wouldn't mind if you came out of the blue

Your daughter,

Maria Tan
