Fatherless

Dear Dad,
Never thought you'd leave
But, oh you did so well
Nothing changed besides my mom
She changed for me
She became you too

Years passed, you came around
Soon to be gone again
Oh how i wish i could've changed things
Christmas presents came around every once in awhile
Then never, gone for good

Addiction is a killer of happiness
You had another love, addiction
Hearing from others, oh; killed my happiness
Never shed a tear in front of you or others
My mind was set you'd be gone soon,
I prayed for nights
You were my happiness that faded

School came, hearing your name
My last name became a curse
You had your fun and ruined me
I hope your other love was worth
My happiness, my fatherless life

Sincerely, your forgotten happiness
