Fatherless Fears
They say we’re young,
and we don’t know,
But we are to intellect,
as winter is to snow,
We journey through life,
Hopeless and afraid,
Expecting only one man,
To rescue the day,
Even though many,
Never seem to bother,
Without a doubt,
Every girl,
Surely does need her father,
As timid as a rose,
In the howling cold,
That bond would serve,
As good as gold,
Even so,
With a blink of an eye,
And a flurry from the sky,
That girl is now a woman,
And that need is no longer summons,
You taught me how to fall without fear,
Stand without help,
And never seek approval,
In order to,
Accredit myself
