Fatherless Teens
Narrator:
There are three girls in this world. Girl one and girl two who have the same story, but girl three, her story is unique:
Girl 1 & Girl 2
Dear dad, pops, the one that wasn't there . Who are you?
I mean the one that loves me dearly.
my sperm donor? Who are you?
(dramatic pause)
my father? Daddy? Is that who you are?
You came and then you left like a twinkle in a star
(ha) Please correct me if i’ve taken it too far..
You left my life a mess. but let's not reminisce,
NOW, when I think of what we could of been it gets me so pissed.
I'm broken and I wish
someone could fix the pieces that you have torn.
Searching for you in others' faces?
Takes me to negative places.
Places I should've never been before.
Girl 3
Dear daddy, I miss you!
It's been awhile since you've been gone.
I'll never forget the hugs and kisses the feeling of acceptance you gave me.
the knowledge you have installed in me
cancer took you away from me it could've been the end of me
but I didn't let that deter me from what I want to be,
rather what I'm going to become.
Girl 3 is ME.
Find the strength within yourself ladies instead of looking for it in other people. Grief and loss is healed within your external motivation.
That strength you feel right now is the strength you put into anything you strive to accomplish …
Let it GO,GROW and GLOW, ladies we got this.
