A Father's Love

 Papa,

Papa, porque nunca me has decho que estas orgulloso de mi?

Pa, why have you never told me your proud of me?

I do what you say, how you say

You taught me to not live without your approval

And I did,

 Pero nada.

But nothing

Is it all the love you have unconsciously placed on our youngest sister?

Is it all the resentment you hold against mi mama?

Why take out your papa's lack of affection on us?

On just your eldest hijos?

Damn old age, danm learned lessons,

It selfishly never came during our time.

You had four to practice on before you perfected the fifth

I love mi hermanita, I do.

But

But..

Jealousy will always dangle over me.

Suficiente!

Enough!

I see the hesitant words behind your eyes, but your dry short words overpower.

Our father who supports, protects and loves, right?

My father who supports and protects

I don't blame you,

I blame your past

I blame mi abuelo y mi abuela

I blame your lack of affection

Damn your lack of love

You knew

Damn your past

Damn me,

Because I will always love you

 - your loving daughter
