Favorite Crime

Death.

The final, irreversible ending

The thing that lingers in the back of my mind all the time

Self harm is my favorite crime

One

Two

Three cuts

The rush of adrenaline

The bright red rushing up to the surface

The sweet sweet release

It’s a high that you can’t escape

It brings you peace

Before reality rushes back in

Filling the gaps, leaking through the cracks

Leaving you grasping, gasping

Depression, overthinking, and anxiety are my friends

We spend too much time together

They convince me they’re all I need

That friends only think I’m a burden

It leaves me feeling uncertain

Like they're pulling back the curtain

Leaving me hurtin
