Favorite Feeling

Dear the Color Blue,

You are my favorite.
My Dad told me
You are a gift of love
From God.
You greet the sun and encircle the earth each new day,
Shining on my face, into my eyes,
Penetrating my soul when all I do is look up.
I carry you with me always.
I study the image in the mirror critically, noting imperfections,
Then I see in my eyes,
That love.
The sky,
Ocean,
My backpack,
Colored pencil,
Paint,
Flowers,
My favorite T-shirts I wear
And people notice my eyes
They speak kind words
Spreading God’s love.
Thank you, Blue,
For being a feeling far reaching
As the sky,
And overwhelming
As the ocean.

Signed,
Your Dear Friend
Vonnie
