Fear
"What is there to fear?" constantly said by mom.
"I can't help but not be calm."
"Don't fret my dear, it's all in your heart."
"But what about the monster under my bed."
This represents a conversation between my mom and I when I was a toddler.
As I grew older I learned there's more to fear than the monster under the bed or the boogey-man in the closet.
Over the years I realized more and more and eventually learned that these childhood monsters aren't the scariest things out there.
I learned to keep my fears to myself because others will judge you or say, "it's going to be ok." when it's not.
Now I fear things like the truth.
I fear loneliness.
I fear death.
I fear time.
I fear society.
As you can see, I fear a lot more than the dark.
I think it comes with age.
Fear is a weird concept that we shouldn't be afraid of.
But being human, we can't help it.
It all comes with being human.
