Fear
Chest's pounding.
Breaths counting.
Feet slapping against the pavement.
Sweat dripping.
Nerves chilling
My mind attempts to reach atonement.
But it never gets there.
Running is the place where I go
When I try to forget my sins.
But the only thing left to show
Is the admittance that pornography wins.
I seek to break free.
I seek to have purity.
But I am like a slave chain-bound,
And only Lust holds the key.
She whispers in my ear,
Assuring me of the false prosperity
That unwanton sex is the path to everlasting security.
I shake my head,
And run from bed.
But, alas!
She is also my worst fear.
The idea that I can never marry,
Or have a girlfriend,
My mind has already been seared.
