Fear

Darkness, it fills in around me.

It attaches, like bark to a tree.

Unshakable, unyielding. The only sound,

“Tick tock tick tock” circling round and round.

Mocking me with its meaning,

Time is slowly passing.

What am I doing, Where am I going?

There’s just no way of knowing.

I cover my ears to ignore the growing wave.

My friend speaks of growing, how is she so brave?

Speaking so longingly for change.

Time to think slowly growing out of range.

Night after night listening to the ever growing noise.

I can not I can not find my poise.

“Tick tock, tick tock”

So reluctantly I watch the clock.

Time slipping what am I to do?

How many second do i have, or how few?

For many days I feel my fear of time grow.

Never before have I been so low.

Finally, my dark nights turned to glowing dawns

I feel as free as a flock of swans.

No longer will my fear keep me from growing,

No instead let it push me to keep rowing.

Like a river I will flow, Like a firefly I will glow

Let the wind under my wings push my to and fro.

I will let my fear be my inspiration,

and force it to help find my passion.

Let my future come as it may,

I will fight through all the way.

Adding ever more to the pile of inspiration it gives me,

any negative feeling let it fall like rain into the sea.
