Fear

resides inside me

at times it drives me

We used to be friends

In fact, it got itself comfortable

took off its socks and pokes at me with its toes

a smack on its face as it claims my space

It’s obsessive nature clouds me

I’ve learnt it’s scent

how it replays it’s collection of my transgressions

It has one for every merry occasion

It bends my neck

to look over my neighbors fence

an old friend that I’m outgrowing

at times, it’s familiar scent is soothing

explains why it’s always lurking
