Fear

Fear

By…Jack Mazzulo

Gripping fear

Creeping in when you least expect it

Why does the heart race?

I’m faint, catch me

I can’t breathe

Is this for real?

Six foot two, I have to stand tall

Everyone’s watching

Hoping I’ll fail?

I can do this

After all, everyone around me is eight.

Is that me screaming like a girl?

I sit, sweating

Locked in, captive

A roller coaster…really?
