Fear

My mind is whirling
My heart beats so fast
I can hear it coming
This is the very last

My eyes are closing
My hands I tightly clasp
My throat starts drying
My breath comes in gasps

The darkness is closing
The only sound my heart
Oh God, what is it
The fear is the start

I begin to pray
The feeling starts to fade
I continue with my prayer
I am no longer afraid

I open my eyes
There is nothing there
The Mighty one has arrived
Satan has fled in despair
