Fear

Location

Fear

Fear, menacing me and looming over my being,
With cold grotesque hands it holds on,
Twisting my eyes, tearing at my soul,
Hiding underneath my outer self, the disguise gone,
Dread, its hideous sister, never seems to be gone,
As the darkness enters, I am consumed thereon.

The ominous storm brews and the wind intensifies,
Desolation is a giant wave crashing around me,
The ship carrying my anxiety rises and falls in the horizon,
The moon shines on the island of my mortality,
Midnight gloom surrounds my icy and emotionless mortality,
Yesterday has vanished and tomorrow threatens to not enter quietly.

I swallow my distress alone in the shadows,
My every breath is taken from me as I fall into black,
Panic drives me to retreat into the noise,
Damn the sounds inside my head, they cannot be muted back,
In despair I try to quiet the uproar, but it cannot be muted back,
I scream, I awaken, and Fear no more, for it was just a soundtrack.
