Fear

The chilling burn crawls up our bones,
filling our souls with such drear.
It's time to face our fear,
but the task is too cold.
Our feet turn blue and freeze.
The fear bites our legs and drags us back.
It's here just for an attack.

Its eyes are like the fire,
challenging us to fight.
The fear smacks its claws against our will,
leaving us dead in fright.

The teeth of terror sinks into our hope.
The venom slithers up to our mind.
In our depressed state, we much decide our fate.

Do we fight back?
Do we let fear cry over our victory?

Or do we give up?
Do we fail at facing our fears?
