fear

she's not sure why she's here
or what she's done
one thing she's sure of
tell no one
as she closes the book of lies
she thinks of her past
she closes her eyes
and takes a step back
she wants to run away
to just get out of this place
but she's afraid of what she'll find
she barely recognizes her own face
she'll get through this
though it will be difficult
she'll come back to her family
adding no injury to insult
