Of Fear and Holding Back

Why am I afraid?

Afraid to love

Afraid to let someone in

Afraid of my own voice

I know I cannot live like this

But I am not brave

I am not strong

Never strong enough to let someone listen

I try to keep a cool facade

But it only works for so long

Until it cracks

Splinters

Shatters

I have to trust

I cannot trust

They will be loyal

They will betray me

I will let someone in

Before I crash

I will let someone in

But who?

I love to write. I love everything about how different combinations of twenty-six letters can make someone laugh, or cry, or become inspired. I want to go to college to be a broadcasting journalist.
