Fear and Hope

Fear is embodied in you.

The way you speak.

The way you think.

You are the fear that I never acknowledged.

I ignored you.

Allowed you to grow.

Fester.

Until you overcame me.

Destroyed my well being.

You took my emotions.

My heart.

My arms.

You even tried to take my life.

But,

Hope is embodied in me.

The way I dream.

The way I sing.

I am the hope you never expected.

I challenged you.

Fought you tirelessly.

Over and over again.

Until I overcame you.

Repaired my own stability.

I reclaimed my emotions.

My heart.

The scars you gave my arms.

My new life.

And I will fight you until the bitter end.

Fear will not control me.
