Fear Can't Hurt the Soul

The dreaded sound of the alarm

Rings, on and on

Fighting the demon inside,

Drowning the angel buried beneath

rising up for another day

just to wish it would all go away

praying the cloud will disappear

and allow the sky to become clear

war between happy and sad

only fueling the demon

and letting it get mad.

Day after day

taking all your strength

to put down the blade.

Before ending it all,

you remember, and fall

fear can't hurt the soul

pushing through and being strong

not allowing the pain to overtake

the life you tried to make

seeking help when it is needed

is not weak at all

silencing the demon inside

bringing the angel to the light

fear can't hurt the soul
