Fear Does Not Define Us.

This is the country where we work hard to get what we need.

The country where our dreams are our fears.

Where all we want is to be safe and secure

The backbone of this country lie six feet in the ground

This is the thrilling story that stilled

the steel hearts in war

This country was built on the backs of the strong.

It was built on the minds of the meek

who were being crushed by their kings.

This is the destination of youth,

yearning to be free.

This is a country that has been fought for

died for and will continue to be.

This is a country that gives hope to the hopeless

Faith to the faithless

Strength to the weak

Help to those who are hurting

This country is filled with those who

will not be defined by fear.

At a young age I lost the only person I truly had a connection with, this caused me to retreat within myself. I clung to Edgar Allen Poe. It is because of him and my connection to poetry that I am here today.
