The Fear of Falling

Ever since I was a kid I was never scared of heights.

I would have dreams of when I’d get to take flight

Into the rushing air of the world I’ve created,

Making risky decisions with the desired outcome premeditated.

But then there were times where I fall.

I try my best to keep flying, but nothing works at all.

This dream occurs multiple times in different ways

Sending messages that could be dark or clear as day.

When I fall, I get angry, I lose hope, I cry.

Friends, family, even God has brought me this far so I wonder why?

Why now do I fall from this endless sky

Where the biggest dreams of legends and heroes never die?

Falling is my fear and that's why I can’t stop flying

Falling is my fear and that's why I’m not afraid of dying

Falling is my fear and it inspires me to fly higher

Falling is my fear and success is my desire

I keep this fear, the fear that people try to conquer.

I keep this fear, because I am not looking for honor.

This fear keeps me hungry to get to the next level,

Like playing bass clef on cello and then learning to play treble.

I’m inspired by falling, because I’m scared of losing my dream

Of inspiring the world and winning with my own team.

Falling is the fuel to the fire of my soul.

The reason why I give 1000% for my ultimate goal.

Falling is my fear, my muse, my inspiration.

With it I could unify or conquer a nation.

Just knowing that something could keep me from flying,

Makes me so desperate that I will never stop trying

To fly higher than anyone ever has before.

And until that day, when I finally settle the score

I will always be flying, falling, and begging for more.

Falling is my fear and I’m bleeding, sweating, and crying.

Falling is my fear and that's why I’m not afraid of dying.

Falling is my fear, and that’s why I have to keep trying.

Falling is my fear and it’s my inspiration to keep flying
