Fear Is, I Am

Tue, 02/19/2019 - 13:44 -- tdm2002

Fear is the snow stuck on southern back roads,

and I am deathly afraid of the cold.

Fear is the bully on school playgrounds,

and I am the kid longing to go home.

Fear is the traffic light that never

turns green.

Fear is the Villian for every

Super-Human being.

But I'm no Superman, and Fear

is not my Kryptonite.

I am the muscle car fighting to make

the yellow traffic light.

I am the salt on the ground,

scruffing up the ice.

I am the kid at the playground

who learned how to fight.

And with every situation,

every hardship thrown my way -

I realized that Fear does not have the final say.
