A Fear I will Fight All My Life

What if somethings never leave?
There is a dark presence in the shadows that lurk around wherever I may wonder.
This presence is like an unrelenting barrage of missiles attacking at my head
I try to deflect, but in the end, I fail.
This overbearing, enormous, unrealistic presence is the visualization of my fears.
Fear of not making it, fear of not being good enough, fear of missing out,
Everywhere I turn I am encountered by fear, but the most saddening of all is the fear of being myself
I am afraid of what the world might think if I just let loose and be myself
What will my friends say, more importantly, what will my parents say?
Even scarier, will they approve, or will they shun and disown me.
Why I am so scared of just being who I want to be without the pressure of everyone’s thoughts
I stress myself out over the feelings of other people, why must I always take their opinions into account
Well, you know what? I am tired of suppressing the way I feel,
I am sick of still wondering what other people might think; I wish there were a way out!
How can I beat this monster, where do I win? Why is it so hard to find help?
I don’t think I can ever get out this.
I have become the prisoner of my fear, and I do not see any way out.
There’s nothing but darkness, should I just sub come to this fear and let it just take over…
I guess not.
I will continue to strive for that beautiful day to which I do not care what anyone thinks
I am merely just waiting for the day to live my life as I want to live it and not give two peenies about anyone else’s thoughts.
I AM READY TO FIGHT TO FEEL FREE!
