Fear of Love

I’m drowning in emptiness

My lungs are filling up with the tears I hold back.

I lie in bed and reminisce on my past stress

because nothing can compare to my permanent anxiety attack.

Scared of being vulnerable

and showing the way I feel.

Like glass, my heart is very fragile.

This situation I’m in is not ideal.

Scared to love again

Self sabotage is my plan.

God, don’t let me be hurt. Amen.

Im waiting for someone to sweep me off my feet. My very own Tarzan.

Instead of waiting for true love, I learned to love myself.

All my feelings of resentment disbursed.

I put every other relationship back on the shelf.

I decided to put me first.

Now I love me

I have made myself happy

And I’m so grateful for my journey.

I will continue to put myself first and love myself so fiercely.
