Fear or Free?

I've been told to be scared

Taught to be meek

Ought to be prepared

Known never to seek

To always suppress

To never be me

To care whom I address

To never be free

But I've never been afraid

Not bound by ruth

Nor can I be swayed

I never hid the truth

I was given a life

Shown a way

Even in strife

On my path I stay

Nothing left to seek

Now I am free

Accomplished by my truth

Always followed my way
