Fear of Sound

I can't explain it

It bubbles up from nowhere

It's white hot and blinding

a deafening rage that rips my self-control away

I feel like I'm going insane

No one seems to understand that

I can't just ignore it

there is no blocking it out.

I can't focus, can't breathe

I sit silent but am screaming

my heart's pounding

panic rising, help

But you can't help me.

In order to help you'd have to die

or just suddenly develop an ability to live

without breathing.
