Fear of Speaking

As my teacher called my name to present

My whole body was trembling with fear

As I began to walk up to the podium

I realized that it was hard get up there

It felt like my feet were frozen in place

Once I got there, my heart suddenly dropped

There was a brief moment of silence

As soon as I began to talk

I realized that my nerves began to die down

As the speech progressed, it began to feel easier

Everything was flowing the right direction

When the speech finished, I could hear the sudden burst of clapping

Coming from my class

I realized that I finally got over my fear

Next time I have a speech, I will think about what I felt

When I had my first speech and think about

How simple it really was

Once I got up to the podium.
