Fear the Voices
I hear all the crazed voices calling me,
Every single dreadful and dreary night.
The rains remind me of the raven’s song,
Singing of a different lost Lenore.
One which was never physically there
But one which, mentally is haunting me.
Now I must come back from this crazy fight.
The lies I hear have haunted me so long
They have since overtaken my mind’s lore.
And it causes me more fear than I can bear
Fear though, is a minor inconvenience
Yet it seems to swallow me whole, at times.
Like gigantic tidal waves from the sea.
Which are themselves true monsters, like old death.
The insidious insolence of all,
The sweet, savage, mysterious voices,
Oh how they treat me well, so very well.
As the dark waters rise high around me
I smell the scent of my metallic blood
Which will always bring back those dreaded sharks.
